The project business
Environmental protection does not demand more energy, just more intelligence.
We provide custom-made, turnkey industrial plants and power plants for our customers – from financing through to construction. All projects are implemented by our highly qualified staff. In the case of plants for the metal producing and processing industry, we undertake the complete management of the project. Particular emphasis is placed on power plants and plants that produce renewable energies such as bioethanol or clean electricity from hydropower.
- General contractor for profitable plants:
-
We support our customers in every step from project development to the construction of the plant right down to the sale of the products. In doing so we remain independent of specific technologies and products and apply only the best processes and components available at the time in question. In addition, we also develop tailormade financing concepts for our Peruvian customers.
- Methanol and ammonia:
-
For many years MAN Ferrostaal has acted as a general contractor for plant construction in the chemical and petrochemical area – one of our core businesses is the production of methanol and ammonia. The product spectrum from such plants ranges from fuels and chemical source products to edible oils and fertilizers. Supported by our worldwide network, we transfer this know-how to Peru.
Our advantage is that we are not tied to specific processes or manufacturers, but instead are able to offer customised solutions using the best technologies and products in each individual case.
- New technology for a new lease of life:
-
was completely modernised by Voith Siemens Hydro and MAN on behalf of the largest Spanish energy company Edegel/Endesa. This was a difficult task, as all three units of the power plant were overhauled in just 90 days while the plant was operational. Today the power plant meets the highest technical standards and can be controlled automatically from a central control station.
- Innovative use of renewable energies:
-
In April 2006, we got another project underway with our partner Voith Siemens Hydro: the contract for the supply of electromechanical components for a new hydroelectric plant called El Platanal. The total investment is in the region of 180 million US dollars, with the electromechanical part accounting for 23 percent. El Platanal is due to come on stream in 2009 and will
be the third largest hydro-electric plant in Peru, generating a total output of 220MW.
